What this document covers, in plain language.
DMCA notice and takedown is the Come Come DMCA takedown process. The plain-language summary below maps every clause to a short reading. The full text follows the summary.
What this document covers
This DMCA page sets out the takedown process for copyrighted material hosted on Come. It covers how to file a takedown notice, what the notice must contain, what happens after a notice is received, the counter-notice process, and the repeat-infringer policy.
How to file a takedown notice
Send the notice to the DMCA agent at the published email address. The notice must identify the copyrighted work, the URL on Come, the contact details of the claimant, a statement of good-faith belief, and a statement of authority, both under penalty of perjury.
What happens after a notice
The DMCA agent reviews the notice, removes or disables access to the allegedly infringing material, and notifies the uploader. The uploader has the right to file a counter-notice.
Counter-notice
The uploader can file a counter-notice identifying the removed material, a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was a mistake, and consent to the jurisdiction of the published federal court. Come restores the material after the counter-notice window elapses unless the claimant files suit.
Repeat-infringer policy
Accounts that accumulate a published threshold of takedown notices are subject to account closure. The threshold is published in the responsible-use area.
Good-faith misrepresentation
Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing - or that it was removed in error - is grounds for liability for damages under the DMCA.
How this document is organised.
The full text of DMCA notice and takedown is organised into sections that mirror the plain-language summary above. Each clause in the full text corresponds to one of the summary blocks. Reading the summary first, then the full text, is the recommended path.
How to cite a clause
When opening a support ticket that cites this document, quote the section heading, not the section number. Section numbers shift on review but section headings stay stable.
Translation and review
This document is reviewed on the same cadence as the rest of the legal page. The English version is the controlling version. Translations into Hindi or other Indian languages are convenience versions; the English text controls in any dispute.
Reading checklist before you file a takedown notice.
Reading the DMCA policy in full is the recommended first step. The reading checklist below maps every clause to a section of the document. Reading the summary first, then the full text, is the recommended path.
When to file a notice
File a takedown notice when copyrighted material is hosted on Come without authorisation. The notice must identify the copyrighted work, the URL on Come, and the contact details of the claimant. Filing a notice without these elements is grounds for rejection.
What the notice must contain
The notice must contain the published signature, the published contact details, a statement of good-faith belief, and a statement of authority, both under penalty of perjury. Notices that omit any of these elements are rejected.
Practical scenarios for the DMCA policy.
The practical scenarios below show how the DMCA policy applies in common claim situations.
Claiming copyright on a contest clip
A player who records a contest clip and posts it on Come retains the copyright. If another player reposts the clip without authorisation, the original player can file a takedown notice. The notice must identify the clip, the URL on Come, and the player's contact details.
Counter-notice after a wrongful takedown
A uploader whose content was removed in error can file a counter-notice. The counter-notice must identify the removed material, include a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was a mistake, and consent to the jurisdiction of the published federal court.
Multiple accounts
If a player operates multiple accounts and one of them is subject to a takedown, the other accounts are unaffected. The DMCA policy is per-account, not per-player. Repeat-infringer policy applies at the player level, not the account level.
Brand assets
Brand assets - logos, marks, character likenesses - are copyrighted by their respective owners. Posting brand assets without authorisation is grounds for takedown. The Come mirror does not host brand assets on its own pages.
Good-faith claims
All claims must be made in good faith. Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing - or that it was removed in error - is grounds for liability for damages under the DMCA.
Disputes
DMCA disputes are handled by the legal desk. The legal desk reviews the original notice, the counter-notice, and the underlying claim. Disputes that escalate to court action follow the published jurisdiction framework.
